Right, I'd love to say I'm
writing this post on the back experience, I'd love to say I had my shit
together and I managed to stay motivated and on a daily basis (well, even once
a week would be nice). So I'll admit, I'm writing this post for the benefit of
myself, which seems to be theme with me, call me selfish... but hopefully you
guys can take inspiration from it too.
Here we go:
1) GET UP EARLIER! -
There are a few reasons for this, having more time in the morning equals less
rushing, less stress, better mood. It’s an opportunity to start the day as you
mean to go - setting a president.
A way to make getting up
earlier more enjoyable (if that’s even possible) and make your day even more
productive, is to set aside a little 'you' time or a ritual to look forward to.
Whether this is a cup of great coffee, meditation, a motivational video
(personal fave) or going through some affirmations.
2) SET GOALS - Make map
of how you’re going to get to those goals, what its going to take. A great way
to keep you on track is make a board - virtual or real, and put pictures and
quotes that inspire you achieve your goals.
3) READ & WATCH-
Read, not only on the subject of staying motivated reading things that KEEP you
motivated. There are so many amazing personal development books out there that
can make you better at what you do and getting results usually sparks - you
guessed it, more motivation. Not only reading though, just like mentioned in
point 1, watching video's can be a great way of growing your knowledge base and
keeping you motivated. You could also sign up to a motivation email service -
positivity is key. Watching things like 'The Secret' can give you an extra
boost to you positivity levels.
3) CLEANSE - Your space
and your mind. The power of having a nice working area (even home) is endless.
Remove clutter from your desk or workspace because it will help you have a tidy
mind. Trying hanging your inspiration board, or have things that inspire you
close by. You can get some really pretty motivational prints to hang around
your home or workspace, see https://www.etsy.com/search?ref=auto4&q=motivational+print&order=most_relevant&view_type=gallery&ship_to=GB.
A great book is The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying Up
4) FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE
IT - This is a good one. Lack confidence? So do most people! Just pretend, gaining
confidence starts at pretending you already have it. Act like you have the job,
salary or life you want. Study people who you admire (as long as they aren’t
a-holes) and ask yourself; what would they do in this situation?
5) BE THANKFUL -
Practise gratitude, getting what you want from life is a journey, and that
journey must be enjoyed. Be grateful for the things you already have and more
good things will follow. This isn't just materialistic. Keep a gratitude journal
and write down 1-5 things a day you are grateful for. This a great tool for
children to. It helps instil a positive mind set from a young age, something I
wish I had been taught.
There are SOOOO many
more things you can do to help yourself, I could have gone on forever. Here’s a
